Gracing the view from Tofino, Meares Island invites visitors to discover its ancient secrets. Meares Island is a living example of a true west coast forest with giant Cedar, Spruce and Hemlock trees underlain with an undergrowth of salal bushes, moss and ferns.

Embark on a brief yet enchanting 10-minute open-air Zodiac water taxi ride through the harbor islands, connecting you to the awe-inspiring ‘Big Tree Trail’ in the Tribal Park of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations. This 1 ½ hour journey invites you to stroll along a handcrafted boardwalk amidst ancient old-growth trees, some of which are up to 1600 years old. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature as you walk among these towering natural wonders.
